Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the New Jersey Science Convention and the Program Committee, we are
pleased to send you a Program Proposal form for the 32nd Annual NJ Science
Convention, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 14th
and 15th, 2007 at the DoubleTree Hotel, Holiday Inn, and Garden State Exhibit Center
in Somerset, N.J.
Please duplicate the form as needed for the proposal(s) you plan to present. We
also encourage you to contact your friends and associates who may have new and
interesting programs to present.
The priority deadline for program
proposals is March 15, 2008.
Programs received AFTER June 1, 2008
are subject to rejection due to full schedule.
Programs will be scheduled into time blocks and available meeting rooms as they
are received. It is to your advantage to submit a proposal as soon as possible.
Your previous co-presenters (if any) will not receive this letter,
so please contact them if you plan to have a co-presenter(s).
Please complete all information on the front and back of the proposal form,
including any co-presenter information on the back.
The Convention will not be able to provide overhead projectors since the rental
cost has become prohibitive. You are encouraged to make arrangements with a
school for your overhead needs. NEW FOR THIS YEAR, if you will require a
white screen to use with an overhead or LCD projector, you must indicate it on
the proposal form. Your room will NOT have a screen unless you indicate a
need. TV/ VCR/DVDs and LCD projectors should be requested only if they are
critical to your presentation. The Program Committee will review requests.
There is no additional fee for exhibiting organizations to present programs;
however exhibitors must provide their own audio-visual equipment.
Educators attending the Science Convention will be eligible to receive credit
toward their State mandated 100 hours of professional development. Please
plan to reference the content of your presentation to the NJ Content
Standards in your introduction and during the program. The Standards can be
downloaded from:
www.state.nj.us/education.
On behalf of the Science Convention, we would like to thank you for volunteering
your time and effort toward the advancement of science education in New Jersey
and the professional development of other educators. We look forward to meeting
you at the Science Convention on October 14-15, 2008.
Sincerely yours,
Glenn Wolfrom and Patti Duncan
